So my humble advice would be: get at minimum a lacerator, razor and loh.
With nice pierce it really does feel like a hot knife slicing through butter. Once you get warshrike + lacerator, and then later, eth versions of the same, it turns into REAL fun. The rest are mix and match till you get optimal gear. Laying on hands would also be another pre requisite. You would also need a razortail (or the new helm truneword that gives pierce). Imo for a smooth experience i really do think you need that amp from lacerator shooting off. Yes, gimmer has nice ele dmg on it, but then again mobs will always have one or even two built in immunities/resistances.
The problem in hell is that on top of the AR you need just to connect with monsters, most monsters also have inherently high physical resistance. Throwbarbs are a ton of fun - with at minimum a lacerator in one hand (non eth is fine!)
